Honor 'Voice Wake Up' feature

Nowadays of course, nearly everyone with a Smartphone is familiar with Siri, Cortana and Google Now as a natural way to search the web, send messages with voice control.

Siri was originally conceived as an artificially intelligent “do engine” that would allow people to hold a conversation with the Internet, pulling in relevant information from multiple sources to anticipate what you wanted before you even wanted it.  In the Microsoft camp, Cortana tried to do the same thing. Google Now is the solution available in most of the android devices to assist the user.

Smartphone voice assistant can be used for many of the functions on the device like

·         Make a call

·         Send a text

·         Send an email

·         Set a timer/alarm

·         Set a reminder based on place or time

·         Schedule a calendar entry

·         Launch an app

·         Play music

Despite the best marketing efforts by Google, Apple and Microsoft, many people simply never use their respective digital assistants on their Smartphone’s because of these functions required connecting to cloud to analyze and get the requested information. Smartphone user is limiting their usage on Voice assistant to very simple function like making call, find the device when it is misplaced.

As our common habit we always forgot where we left our phone, we try to spend lot of time in find our device in house and offices. Honor can optimize their voice assistant to provide best result for the most used usage “Device wake-up.

Here is the Honor 'Voice Wake Up' feature, which enables you to find a misplaced Honor 7 with voice command.  

Few simple steps to configuring “Voice Wakeup” to find your misplace Honor device within seconds  

1.    Enable “voice wakeup” from settings

2.    Select a wake up Key (Example “Dear Honor” )  

3.    Select the language

You are ready to go with voice wakeup feature to find your Honor.

 Honor “Voice wake up” can be configured  with custom Wakeup Keyword instead of “Dear Honor”.  

Custom wakeup keyword screen in settings, will guide the user to define required wakeup keyword.  

When you choose new keyword for “Voice Wakeup”, you need to train your honor with your voice. Hold the Honor as shown and speak out the command for three times as guided onscreen.  

This nice feature implemented by Honor could be use to find out your mobile or could be used to place the call.

·         ”Dear Honor where you are?”  :  When you speak out this “Dear Honor Where are you” , Honor will responds to you with beautiful voice  saying you  “I am here”

The device flash light will start blinking to enable user to find the device easily when is misplace in hidden place like under the sofa, chair or bed

This Amazing feature works even if your device is connected to headset; the response voice will be placed in device speaker even during the device is connected to headset.

·         ” Dear Honor” “Call James?”  : Voice command will wakeups the device and initiate the call to “james” immediately

Link+ is three Key

·        WIFI+ Provides a smart network switch between WIFI and data network automatically to prove best data speeds. Mostly importantly with Wi-Fi+ , even if Wi-Fi settings is off, the Wi-Fi setting will get turned on and connect to known Wi-Fi connection.

·        Signal+ provide smart connectivity to the best network cell available in the location, with an intelligent and fast cell switching technology

·        Roaming+, Similar to the Single plus Roaming+ provide an intelligent and fast cell switching during roaming.

Wi-Fi+

This features assists user by automatically selecting the best among available mobile data and Wi-Fi networks for smoother internet experience. In other words, the devices checks if Wi-Fi connection is good or Mobile data provides better data connectivity to user. For example, if Wi-Fi connection is poor, then it automatically switches back to Mobile data and vice-versa.

The following image shows switch to mobile data even when the WIFI is available because of its poor quality

If user navigates to Wi-Fi settings page, poor connection prompt will be shown in the above case.

To get this advantageous of Wi-Fi+, user need to turn on this option in Wi-Fi settings.

When device comes into the range of known Wi-Fi connection, device will connect to Wi-Fi automatically as per base android behavior.Mostly importantly with Wi-Fi+ , even if Wi-Fi settings is off, the Wi-Fi setting will get turned on and connect to known Wi-Fi connection.

If the Wi-Fi connection is not providing internet service, then user will be prompted if the connection still needs to be continued.

Furthermore, if the Wi-Fi connection is detected as poor then device will not reconnect back to Wi-Fi and will continue only mobile until the wifi data connectivity is good.

Signal+

Signal+ is available in the phone by default; there is no need of user intervention in the operation. Signal+ helps user to get best network by switching between different signal transmitters in the network and thus, assisting in better network experience on phone.

There is several use cases where in Signal+ will serve as an aid to user.

Example: when user is at a low coverage region of a cell; Signal+ will check the coverage of other cells and switch automatically and quickly. Also when moving at high speeds say in a train or cars, Signal+ will switch intelligently among different cells to provide continuity in voice call and data services.  Definitely, a par in network performance compared to non- Signal+ devices.

Roaming+

Similar to Signal+, Roaming + as well do not need any user intervention. On arriving in a roaming region, Roaming+ searches and finds the best and suitable roaming network cell and gets connect for seamless user experience

Honor 7 Integrated Application [Contact / Call Log / Messaging]

Did you feel uncomfortable when you wanted to view your message when you are in Call Log Application or in Contacts Application?

Honor 7 has a very cool and interesting feature that integrates Contacts, Messaging & Call Log.

User can open any of the three apps [Contacts, messaging or Call Log] where he can move between these three applications without closing the apps. This Ensures better Usability for Users, whereby reducing the user interactions to switch between Contacts, Messaging and Call Log.

Apart from this cool Integration of Apps in Honor 7, there are loads of additional Features in Contact, Messaging and Call Log which are not available in Nexus 5X, that are very user friendly, and also provides better User Interface to use these applications.

Sorted Timestamp in Call Log View

Honor 7 Provides a Dialer and Messaging application View that shows the Time stamp for all the list of Messages or Call Log entries in the Application. In Nexus 5X, one has to go into the call Details to view the Timestamp. Honor 7 eases user interaction by providing Sorted Timestamp Details in the Application viewed. 

Call/Contact Details:

Honor 7 provides many user friendly features when Call Details is viewed for any Contact in Call Log entry. It provides features like Send Message, Share Contact, Favorites, and Add to Blacklist, Edit Contact, Change Ringtone and Shortcut creation for the call log entry. Whereas Nexus 5S only provides features like edit contact, Send Message. 

Privacy Protection:

If there is any Private information that you don’t want others to view, Honor 7 provides a feature called Privacy protection allows user to Set Private Data for Contacts, Albums & Application. Set two passwords, one for self, and the other for Visitor. If the device is unlocked with visitor Password, all private information will be hidden.

Harassment Filter

Annoyed by Unwanted calls or Spam SMS? Honor 7 has a solution for that as well called as Harassment Filter. This feature allows user to Blacklist all the unwanted numbers from calls and messages. It also provides users with Whitelist options for calls and sms control. It also provides a Interception rules and Interception Notification reminder when a Harassment call or Spam message is received.

Smart Search:

Do you have more than 1000+ Contacts in your device and you are finding it difficult to search and view a contact?

Honor 7 has a special feature called Smart Search which helps user to traverse the Contacts just by dragging through the Alphabet list in the contacts applications. By this way searching a contact is faster and easier.

Merge Duplicate Contacts:

Are you finding many Duplicate contacts in your contact list and find it difficult to delete all the duplicate contacts?

Honor 7 provides a feature called as Merge Duplicate contacts that merges the contacts with the same Name. Just open Contact settings and click on merge Duplicate contacts inside. The feature will display all the duplicate contacts. Just select merge and your Duplicate contacts are removed from your contact list. Nexus 5X doesn’t support merge of Duplicate contacts.

Online Contact Search:

Have you kept your Business Contacts in your Exchange Account, and you wanted to retrieve that contact without opening your Exchange Email Account?

Honor 7 provides an Option to search for any contact that is saved in your Exchange Account. Just Enable the Option for Online Contact Search in the Contacts setting Menu and you can search your contacts easily.
